These drawings are so good woah! The line work is amazing!!! I love how ridiculous it is I feel like even without understanding who the lady is, what the soup is or why it turns you into an alien baby(?) doesn't hinder the story! I'm not sure how i feel about the text for "Forgetfulness" flowing off the page. It stood out a lot to me. Mayne you could still space it out like that just not have the last s cross over the panel outline.
I really like the color scheme you chose for this, it creates a very calming and tranquil mood while also feeling magical with the bright pop of color from the yellow. The way you broke up your panels in the first four pages is really nice and flows well and I enjoy the level of detail in those pages. However, I think that because those pages are so full and theres so much detail the last two pages feel somewhat empty. Especially because the imagery in the third panel on page five and the second panel on page 6 is the same. Though I'm not sure what a solution to making them feel less empty would be. Over all I think this is a really beautiful and visually interesting comic.
I love the atmosphere created by your wavy line work and the subtle contrast of the pale blue / red lines! The bright lemon yellow as an indicator of magic offsets that soft feeling in a nice way. Great character design on the soup lady as well!! My only suggestion is to work on the 5th page: I do get the sense of her consciousness/memory diminishing until it disappears, but the [...of...] box somewhat disrupts the sense of emptiness in that panel, and the subsequent rebirth feels a bit abrupt. Might be interesting if you had some sort of transition from the boxed-in black text to the neon lettering?
The comic is amazing. The art style and flow among panels did a great job. The color choices are good. The handwriting fits the scene well. The only thing you may consider is the last two pages are bit empty comparing to the last full pages.
Really nice linework and there's a nice sense of movement in each panel. I think the color palette is best used in the fifth page and the shrinking effect in that one is well done. With the colors in the first two pages, the balance of colors does not feel as equal as in the other pages. I would suggest adding more of the teal to the first page and more of the more purple-ish blue to the second page. Nice job on the pacing. Your lettering is very nice and I really like the part that breaks the text box when the soup lady speaks. For the lettering on the first panel of the last page, I don't think you need the periods between each letter. The glowing effect on those letters also threw me off since there isn't much of that anywhere else. I would also be interested in seeing if that box-less lettering would would anywhere else in the comic. Overall really nice job!
The story is really strong and structured, even though it is from a eastern background folktale, but the comic itself is still really clear and easy for all readers to read. You are really good at control the rhythm of stories! This is overall a very poetic and beautiful work.
The story is really dramatic, I like the trasition between pages 4-6. It's so mavelous, I really feel the strenghs and the energy of your story. The writing is beatiful and make me want to go deeper in it! I really appreciate your work!
Love your color palette and the line works! The comics look really fine, the narratives also did a great job leading the whole movement while keeping as simple as they could be. The last spread is my favorite one cuz the panels work the best when you use them in this different way and it is really smart of you also combining the words as "forgetfulness" dragged slowly and being in these special panels, I really get the sense of a slowly sleepy mysterious journey as what you are trying to express.

ReplyDeletelove this in its entirety. Everything feels finished and considered and the movement of the lines with this style are enchanting.
